Treasurer to leave Town for Region

Town treasurer Helen Chamberlain will leave Fort Erie to become the director of financial management and planning for Niagara Region.

Her departure leaves the Town with three vacant director positions: chief administrative officer, director of legal and legislative affairs, and now treasurer.

In the past three years, six top level staff have rotated out of Fort Erie.

Formerly having worked at the Region before joining the Town in 2007 as deputy treasurer, Chamberlain was promoted to treasurer in 2008.

“Helen has done a great job for us and is thought of highly among her peers in Niagara,” said Mayor Doug Martin. “Her financial expertise is unmatched and her new role at the Region presents a great opportunity for her. We wish her well.”
