Fireworks bylaw prohibits firecrackers

Consumer fireworks are prohibited from being lit in the Town of Fort Erie except on Victoria Day and Canada Day as well as 10 days before and three days after each holiday.

The bylaw regulating fireworks also allows fireworks to be discharged on American Independence Day plus three days before and after.

Firecrackers are prohibited. So are M-80s, cherry bombs and many other assorted explosive devices.

Fireworks may only be sold from May 1 to July 8. Purchasers must be at least 18 years of age.

If I read the bylaw right, it means my newly developed rocket transit bus will require a permit from the fire chief.
