Woman injured in impaired hit-and-run

A 48-year-old Fort Erie man turned himself into police to face impaired and other charges in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident in a parking lot on Courtwright Street.

A woman was seriously injured and taken to a Buffalo hospital shortly after 11:30 p.m. when he was struck by a car driven by the man who had left an “establishment” and fled the scene, according to Niagara Regional Police.

Charged with dangerous driving, impaired and failure to remain at the scene is David Visentin.
