Public works director and acting CAO Ron Tripp has quit to take an executive position with the City of St. Catharines — from whence he came eight years ago — as the director of transportation and environmental services.
He informed Town of Fort Erie staff and an official announcement was made this morning.

The writing was on the wall. Good Luck to Ron Tripp and a big thank you from the residents of Fort Erie. Ron did his best and he deserved much better than the disrespect that was shown to you by the “Bloc”.

Ron will be missed by the staff of the Town as well as its citizens. He is a hard working man who gave his all in every thing he did. As one who worked with Ron in some very adverse circumstances and trying events (Oct 2006 winter storm), he was always there to help and to his best for our community. This extended outside his work duties to life in the Town; he moved his family here and FE became his home. RON — Best wishes in all your future endeavors – YOU WILL BE MISSED!

Further to my previous comment – maybe Ron will now be in a position to challenge this so call “Council” for all the disrespect and wrong doing they have put on him. Possible wrongful hiring practices or maybe a constructive dismissal suit?? – I smell another lawsuit in the offing!!

Ditto Jim, exact words I would have spoken!

This is just awful, another spiral in the wrong direction. Best of luck to Ron, although I am sure his reputation will carry him all the way. Too bad the current Council can’t count their blessings instead of biting off their noses to spite their faces.
