The belated lion of March weather has caused the suspension of garbage and recycling collection for Wednesday.

If you were missed today, it will be picked up tomorrow, according to a press release from Niagara Region.

Meanwhile, the snowstorm has curtailed most Town operations. Town hall is closed. Libraries were not expected to close as of 11 a.m., but may do so later. Transit is cancelled.

Regional operations deemed non-essential have also been suspended as of 1 p.m. Regional headquarters is closed. Public health clinics and offices are closed. Regional transit is running late.

Arenas are open and are available for shelter.

Up to 25 cm of snow may fall before the storm abates later this evening and windy conditions will continue through Thursday and Friday.
