Roof-riding passenger thrown from car

Crazy car antics landed a man in the hospital and the novice driver of the vehicle on the wrong end of a serious traffic charge.

A 17-year-old driver was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm following the 4 a.m. Saturday incident on Mathews Road.

Police say the passenger was riding on the roof with his legs through the sunroof when the driver hit the brakes and threw the passenger onto the hood of the car and onto the road.

He sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
