Plow operator crushes arm

A private plow operator was badly injured Sunday morning while making repairs to his equipment.

Niagara Regional Police say the 1,000-pound blade fell on his arm while he was using a sledge hammer to fix a dent around 11 a.m.

He suffered compound fractures in his left arm and was taken to Welland hospital where he underwent surgery for the injuries.

The accident occured at the Esso gas station on Garrison Road.

An employee of the gas station also took a bump on the head and was taken to hospital as a precaution
