Jewelry store dispute turns ugly

A violent confrontation at a Niagara Falls jewelry store resulted in assault and weapons charges against the store owner and two other men as well as the customer.

Niagara Regional Police say a dispute between the owner and a male customer  escalated to violence when the owner, Pasquale Bagnulo, 56, assaulted the customer, and two other men joined in causing “significant injuries” and forcibly confined the customer.

A passerby on the street called in the incident thinking that a robbery was taking place.

Bagnulo was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and possession of a prohibited device.

Also charged are Sean Bagnulo, 29, and Jason Smith, 35, with assault with weapon, assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.

All three were held in custody for a bail hearing.

David Clark was also charged with assault and was released on a promise to appear in court.
