Frigid temps, blowing snow

Near-blizzard conditions are expected in Fort Erie later today and tonight, as frigid temperatures join the wintry maelstrom which has dumped about 15 cm of drifting snow the past day.

Temperatures as low as -22 along with strong winds from the west will drive windchill near -40.

Fort Erie plows are working. Priority is placed on major arterial roads, then connector roads and then local roads.

Transit services have been cancelled.

Expect waste collection delays, if not postponements.

QEW at Fort Erie is snow-covered in places, center-bare in others.
