Council’s first choice refuses CAO job

Chosen by a 4-3 vote of councillors Paul Collard, John Hill, Don Lubberts and Bob Steckley, the top candidate for the position of chief administrative officer refused the job.

A press release from the Town this morning said the parties “were unable to come to terms on an employment agreement.”

Council will meet in September to consider its options. Translation: how they intend to screw this up even more.

Infrastructure services director Ron Tripp will continue as the acting CAO, a job he has endured since Harry Schlange left the position a year ago.

This is great news for the town of Fort Erie….I think Ron Tripp is doing a great job and to bring someone in with the mess we are in would only put us back years.
