Chief of Moroun’s bridge firm jailed for contempt | | Detroit Free Press.

A Wayne County judge today jailed Dan Stamper, president of Manuel (Matty) Moroun’s Detroit International Bridge Co., for contempt of court in a dispute stemming from the state’s Gateway Project at the Ambassador Bridge.

Wayne County Circuit Judge Prentis Edwards denied a request by bridge company attorneys to delay jailing Stamper until an appeal could be filed. Wayne County deputies immediately handcuffed Stamper and led him out of the courtroom. Stamper had no reaction as he was led away.
